Understanding your Employment Rights: Sometimes you simply need an expert view on something related to your employment, or you need a little advice on what your obligations or entitlements are (perhaps you believe that you have been treated unfairly or differently to others, or you have unpaid wages or unpaid bonus). Employment Tribunal Representation: Although we would always advocate informal negotiation as the first means of dispute resolution, at times employment tribunal claims are unavoidable and our specialist employment lawyers are here to simplify the process for you. Our employment team will offer you robust, consistent and down-to-earth advice and representation throughout the entire process (from initial enquiry and drafting of proceedings through to hearing), in all employment-related matters. This includes advising and representing on matters such as unfair dismissal, redundancy, age/ sex/ race/ disability discrimination, equality matters, and TUPE related dismissals to name a few.

Compromise Agreements: If you have been offered a Compromise Agreement, we can help. A special kind of contract (a Compromise Agreement) is required in order to settle employment-related claims and our expert employment solicitors are well versed in drafting and negotiating Compromise Agreements to ensure the very best outcome for you. We can often perform this work at no cost to you and for a fixed-fee payable by your employer.

Thinking of Resigning?: You may feel that you are in a position where you have no option other than to resign. This could be a direct result of poor treatment, unfair prejudice or simply a difference of opinions. Whatever the circumstances it is often sensible to speak with us first, to take stock and to understand your options and the implications of your decision, before you make it. Often we will be in a position to oblige your employer to take remedial action and in other cases we may help you to agree a severance package, secure a valuable agreed reference or advise on the merits of Constructive Dismissal.

Disciplinary Matters/ Grievances: Not every problem results in an employment tribunal claim and at times you may need expert employment support to ensure that things don’t get that far. Understanding what avenues of complaint are available to you and understanding your company’s internal processes is an important part of ensuring that you are treated fairly. We regularly advise on grievance and disciplinary matters and assist clients in ensuring that they are dealt fairly by their employers and colleagues.
